Bright and optimistic, Tifa always cheers up the others when they’re down. But don’t let her looks fool you, she can decimate almost any enemy with her fists. She is one of the main members of AVALANCHE. She and Cloud were childhood friends, and although she has strong feelings for him, she would never admit it.

Tifa is one of many martial artists in the Final Fantasy series, but is the only woman to have that job class (aside from generic units such as those in the Tactics games). Tifa's surname was initially translated as "Lockheart," but this was corrected in subsequent releases.

Like Cloud, Tifa has long been a popular character in both FFVII and the greater Final Fantasy series, and has appeared in many other games. First, other FF titles she's appeared in are as follows:

• Dissidia 012: Tifa serves as the Warrior of Cosmos in the Dissidia sequel, since Cloud is off fighting for Chaos. (Dissidia is weird like that.)
• Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade: Tifa appeared during the FFVII event and a few other events.
• Final Fantasy All the Bravest: Tifa is a random downloadable character.
• Theatrhythm: Tifa is a downloadable character in the iOS version of the game.
• Theatrhythm: Curtain Call: Tifa is a playable character; she can be transferred from the demo or unlocked during the game. Fun fact: Tifa is one of the few characters with two forms in the game! Her original look from FFVII and her AC outfit are in the game as separate playable characters.

Tifa has shown up in non-Final Fantasy games as well.

• Ehrgeiz: A PS1 fighting game; Tifa is a playable character.
• Kingdom Hearts II: Tifa appears in this game, apparently looking for Cloud. As I've never played KH, this site doesn't cover it.
• Dragon Quest & Itadaki Street: Tifa has appeared in this series several times, specifically in the Special, Portable, and Mobile titles.
• LittleBigPlanet 2: Tifa's outfit is in this game. No, really.
• Xenogears: A poster of Tifa appears in a house in Solaris.
